I would like this post to be about ideas for characters to play in Ashes of Creation, whether it is actual character ideas or thoughts on how to roleplay an archetype (I mean there are 64!). Roleplaying in MMORPGs can be difficult to get into but I believe with all of the dynamic and immersive systems Intrepid is providing it will not only be easier to do but desirable and fun AF.
I have many but I will share 2 of the favorite I have created so far:
Leo’Arc Spiritmane – A Male Feline/lion inspired Tulnar
Prim: Ranger
Secondary: Cleric Life Augment
Archetype: Spiritbow
“A Divine Predator”
I have loads of backstory but I don’t want to bore you. Of course, you don’t need the backstory to RP in an MMORPG but for me it’s fun and fills the void not playing DnD leaves haha.Gor’Thar Bloodhymn- A Male Ren’Kai
Prim:Bard
Secondary:Tank
Archetype:Siren
The Bringer of Platemail & Powerchords
A giant Ren’kai battle bard…what more is there to say haha.RP for me is a form of creative expression, where you can let your shit run wild and I encourage you to do so. This is a safe spot for us old grumpy gamers to let our RP hang out! May your drink be strong and your food plentiful.

I have a character concept in my head, but my knowledge of the Ashes’ lore is so limited that I haven’t dedicated and details of a backstory down yet. I will most likely have two characters and only two characters. I’ll detail what I hope will be my main here.
Krokar Kott
Alias: Meathooks
Race: Dunir
Archetype: Dreadnought (fighter/tank)
Profession: ShipwrightMy concept for Kott is a retired combat veteran who hopes to live out the rest of his days in peace and quiet. He passed on the opportunity to join his comrades in the first group that left Sanctus to pave the way for others to enter Verra. He spend his time studying shipbuilding from a long distanced Nikua cousin, and came to the absolutely based opinion that, “Ships are the mountains of the sea!” and he would proclaim this often and loudly to any who doubted him. But for all this trying to forget, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something had happened to his former companions without him there to fight by their side. Now, duty-bound, not to mention extremely pissed off, he prepares to step through the gate and return to his homeland and rescue, or lay to rest his brothers-at-arms.
My focus will probably be on mastering shipbuilding, but when it comes time to put axes to asses and hammers to heads, I want this guy to be able to dish out the same amount of punishment he takes. Just get in there and tear shit up!

This is great! A reason to venture back into the world of Verra while also providing the drive to put axes to asses. The shipbuilding fits perfectly and will be an awesome profession I believe. I think that shipbuilding and siege weapon building will be super important but not a wildly popular choice.
I also have an idea for a Dunir that could be fun!
Bjorn Stoutshield – A Male Dunir
Prim: Tank
Secondary: Tank
Archetype: Guardian
“The Impervious Drink”
A dwarven tank who failed to protect his first party that adventured through the gate, once he made it back he tried to find solace at the bottom of a mug. Bjorn now torn down to just his beard and his self-loathing found the strength he needed to pull himself out of the mug and venture once more unto the breach. Leading the charge with multiple shields and a keg of ale strapped to his back, The Impervious Drunk makes his way onto the battlefield. -
